Business Consultant

The Business Consultant will provide consulting services to Jenzabar customers on the implementation, training and best use of our EX & JICS software systems. This position requires a solid understanding of Student Information Systems (‘SIS’), specifically focused in one of the four areas:

  • Registration, Advising (Degree Audit) and Student Life (housing, medical records, student groups, etc.)
  • Admissions and Financial Aid
  • Alumni and Development
  • Business Office and Human Resources
  • Along with a general understanding of higher education regulations, requirements and policies associated with these key student-based offices. This position also requires the ability to manage individual relationships and the ability to train user groups on how to best use the Jenzabar software. The Business Consultant will provide feedback as to the feasibility of particular client enhancement requests and best practice recommendations in regards to using the Jenzabar software. The Business Consultant may be required to participate in sales calls, assist in scoping additional services work and assist in the development of services proposals as needed.

    The Business Consultant will be expected to travel up to 36 weeks per year and will be in the office during normal business hours when not traveling or visiting customer locations. This position will also work in conjunction with all other levels of Business Consultants.

    The Business Consultant is responsible for leading the implementation process for one of the four Jenzabar J1/EX software applications. The process includes training Jenzabar customers to setup, configure and use these software modules along with the corresponding web-based CRMs related to student and faculty needs.

    In addition to implementation training, consultants may be required to perform customizations and minor system maintenance from time to time. For some Jenzabar products, the selected candidate will assist the customer in the pre-install process by helping them complete the configuration worksheets and teaching them how to enter configuration values into the system. They will assist the client in the interpretation and definition of the client’s institutional requirements in order to maximize their use of the Jenzabar software.


    Experience: 3–5+ Years of ERP system implementation experience and/or 3-5+ years of Student Information Systems (SIS) within the Higher Education marketplace. Previous Jenzabar J1/EX Software highly desirable.

    Required Skills:

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Software
  • Excellent communication and listening skills (former software training experience a plus)
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to learn and understand new software applications from both the administrator and end user sides
  • Preferred familiarity with Jenzabar J1/EX or other competitive ERP software for the higher education market.
  • SQL knowledge is also a plus, but not required for this position.
